The Walk is a wonderful weekend of friendship and spiritual growth. I pray regularly, giving thanks for communities of faith, and the Emmaus Community is a special part of these. Anyone would be blessed to join the Walk to Emmaus.
The Walk is where I found my faith. De Colores – my life has gone from monotone to all the colors of the rainbow. Emmaus for me, means hugs, cookies and fellowship. A community of like-minded seekers of God and faith, overflowing with love and peace. I have weathered many storms in my life since I did my first Walk, and I see life very differently knowing that Jesus is always walking with me, as is the community.
The Walk to Emmaus was a time of deep, personal spiritual assessment for me. It was a time of bonding with many other men (and women) who were also trying to assess their own spiritual core. There was a lot of time at the table for sharing of beliefs, feelings and life experiences, which helped me to realize I had a lot in common with my fellow pilgrims and team members. Lots of laughter, sharing and joy were the highlight of the experience. There were inspiring talks and topics of discussion. All were encouraged to participate in discussions and sharing. The Walk helped me to see how God is present in my life and showed me ways to become closer to Him every day. I attended the Walk in 2017. My experience was uplifting and very inspirational. I was amazed by the group of individuals, and how well I was welcomed.
